1) Who we are
Cake Or Fake is operated by Ayana Wellness LLC (doing business as Ayana Dev Studio) ("we", "us", "our").
Address: 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States

2) What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you:
- Visit our website (https://www.cakeorfake.com).
- Install and use the Cake Or Fake Chrome Extension.
- Register for an account or purchase a subscription.
- Communicate with our customer support team.
3) The core promise
We respect your privacy. We do not sell your personal data. Our business model is based on providing a valuable software service, not on monetizing your browsing history or personal information.
4) Data the Extension can access on supported websites
To score and label proposals, the Extension requires permission to read on-page content that is visible to you in your browser (for example: proposal text, job descriptions, profile details, and page structure on supported freelancing platforms).
How this content is handled:
- Ephemeral Processing: The Extension extracts specific text elements (e.g., a message or job post) only when you are on a supported page.
- Transmission for Analysis: This text is securely transmitted to our servers (and our AI providers) solely to generate the score, label, or summary.
- No Unrelated Monitoring: We do not monitor your browsing history on unsupported websites. The Extension only activates on specific domains (e.g., Upwork, Fiverr, etc.) defined in the extension's manifest permissions.
5) Information we collect
A) Account information (when you sign up)
We collect the following required information to create your account:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- Encrypted password (if signing up via email/password).
We may also collect:
- Profile preferences (e.g., language settings).
- User feedback or support queries you submit to us.
B) Third-party sign-in (Google / Apple)
If you choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive information needed to authenticate you. This typically includes:
- Your email address (or a verified alias).
- Your name.
- Your profile picture (optional).
Note: If Apple provides an email alias (Hide My Email) and you choose it, we will use that alias email for your account communication.
C) Billing (Stripe)
Payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number or bank details. We may receive limited payment-related details such as:
- The last 4 digits of your card.
- Card expiration date.
- Billing address/Country (for tax calculation).
- Subscription status and transaction history.
D) Usage & diagnostics
We collect limited technical information to operate the Service, for example:
- Browser type and version.
- Operating system.
- Extension version.
- Error logs and crash reports.
We design diagnostics to avoid including sensitive proposal content or personal identifiable information (PII) inside error logs.
E) Analytics
We use analytics tools to understand what's working and improve reliability. Analytics may include:
- Button clicks (e.g., how often "Analyze" is clicked).
- Feature usage frequency.
- Session duration.
We do not intentionally send user-generated content (such as proposal text or chat messages) to analytics tools.
6) How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide the Service: Authenticate your login and generate analysis/scores for the content you view.
- Process Payments: Manage subscriptions and calculate applicable taxes.
- Improve the Product: Analyze usage trends to fix bugs and prioritize new features.
- Communicate: Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets) or policy updates.
- Security: Detect and prevent fraudulent use or abuse of the Service.
7) How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service. We do not sell your data.
Service providers: We trust third-party vendors to perform specific tasks on our behalf:
- Cloud Hosting: To host our servers and database.
- AI/LLM Providers: To process text and generate the "Cake Or Fake" analysis. Data sent here is transient and processed according to strict enterprise privacy agreements.
- Payment Processing: To handle billing.
- Analytics: For usage metrics.
- Affiliate Tracking: To track referrals and attribute commissions if you registered or subscribed via a partner link.
Important limits
- We do not allow third-party ad networks to use your data for targeting.
- We do not sell your email address to lists.
Legal
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security of our company or our users.
8) Data retention
- Account Data: We retain your account information for as long as your account is active.
- Activity Logs: Server logs are generally retained for a limited period (e.g., 30-90 days) for security and debugging, then deleted.
- Analysis Data: Content sent for analysis is processed ephemerally. We do not permanently store the text of the proposals you analyze unless you explicitly use a "Save" or "History" feature within the app.
You can request deletion of your account data (see Section 10).
9) Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including HTTPS (TLS) encryption for all data in transit and industry-standard security practices for our databases. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit what we collect and protect what we store.
10) Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your data. You can:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct: Update your information via your account settings.
- Delete: Request that we delete your account and associated data by emailing us.

The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If we discover a child has created an account, we will delete it.
12) Chrome Web Store compliance
We aim to comply with applicable Chrome Web Store policies, including the Limited Use Policy.
- We only request permissions necessary to implement the extension's features.
- We do not use permissions to collect browsing history for unrelated purposes.
- We do not transfer data to third parties for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page and may notify you via email or a notification within the Extension.
